Having taken pictures of the local surfing community for the past ten years, Jake is a gifted photographer and visual storyteller. Just look at his work on Santa Cruz Waves. Since joining our team he has created original, engaging photographs for our clients’ websites. His shots are simultaneously familiar and unexpected. Feeling camera shy? Didn’t get enough rest the day before the shoot? Worried about an imaginary double chin? Don’t be—Jake’s a master at getting the best out of your good side! And have no fear—he can tastefully edit any shot before you can say Photoshop. His calm demeanor will immediately put you at ease while he’s snapping your portrait, arranging still shots or making your office look like a million bucks. But don’t let his low-key approach fool you, he works quickly, efficiently and always with a plan. Holding a BA in Fine Arts from Lewis and Clark College, he went on to a PhD in Post-Modern Literature from UCSC. He is a multi-media artist who also writes poetry. And when he’s not peering through his Canon, he’s exploring the richest story of all: that of being a father. It’s his favorite chronicle thus far, and one that will be explored for years to come.
