Being that they were opening a brand new restaurant, we were honored to have had the pleasure to help them with all of their design needs: logo, business cards, website, menus, labels, coasters, matchbooks and more.
The oldest still-standing building in Felton, CA, our goal was to represent their visual identity in a way that harkens back to the 1800's when it was originally built. We created a custom typeface that is similar to those used on age-old materials in construction during this era. The logo beautifully transcends all mediums, from their website, to their house-canned food labels, to the etching on their wooden beer flight tasting trays.
The responsive website, which is fully powered by WordPress, has a heavy focus on the history of the building, along with great photos showcasing their amazing food. We worked closely with them on photography to highlight their fun environment, their hearty dinners, and their bountiful lunches inspired by classic American recipes: homemade and traditional.
“Especially for a new restaurant. We never answer emails or phone calls. We have larger than life ideas. We have no time and everything needs to be done yesterday. Oh, and then you get a new chef and he wants to redesign everything. Sleepless Media held my hand from beginning to end, from the initial logo concept to menu design, collateral and launching a website that is not only beautiful and functional, but simple for me to administer. Their design boards make the creative process enjoyable and streamlined. Sleepless Media and especially Laura spent great time and consideration on our aesthetic, budget, and time constraints. I recommend them to everyone and will use them on future projects.”

The restaurant’s branding naturally extends consistently across all of their printed materials as well. It was super fun tackling all of their graphic design needs including business cards, postcards, menus, matchbooks, jar labels, signage and more.
